The Dennis Erb Racing team concluded their "Speedweeks 2008" journey tonight in round six of the 'Alltel DIRTcar Nationals' at the Volusia (FL) Speedway Park. Dennis Erb was forty-fourth fastest in World of Outlaws Late Model Series qualifying and later finished eighth and sixth in his heat race and B-Main respectively. However, the Carpentersville, Illinois native received an 'Alltel DIRTcar Nationals' points provisional to gain access into the $10,000 to win feature event. After starting twenty-seventh on the grid for the 50-lapper, Dennis brought his #28 C.J. Rayburn / Rhyne machine home in the twenty-fifth position. Dennis Erb notched his second Top Five performance of the 2008 racing season tonight in night five of the 'Alltel DIRTcar Nationals' at the Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Florida. Dennis set the fastest time in his group during UMP DIRTcar Series qualifying and later won his heat race. After starting in the fifth spot for the $10,000 to win feature event, Dennis found his way to the front of the field and led one official lap before eventually bringing his #28 machine home in the fifth position behind winner Clint Smith, Billy Moyer, Jimmy Owens, and Steve Francis. The Dennis Erb Racing team competed in round four of the 'Alltel DIRTcar Nationals' tonight at the Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Florida. Unfortunately it was not a great Valentine's Day for Dennis Erb, as he failed to make the starting field for the $10,000 to win World of Outlaws Late Model Series season opening feature event. Dennis timed in fourteenth fastest in WOOLMS qualifying, finished fifth in his heat race, and ran fifteenth in his B-Main after his left rear tire rolled off the bead while in the second spot. The Dennis Erb Racing team had a great run tonight in round three of the 'Alltel DIRTcar Nationals' at the Volusia (FL) Speedway Park. Dennis Erb posted the sixth quickest lap in UMP DIRTcar Series group qualifying and later finished fifth in his heat race. After a strong win in his B-Main, Dennis rolled off nineteenth for the $7,000 to win feature event. The Carpentersville, Illinois native then passed fourteen cars during the 30-lap A-Main to get up to the fifth spot late in the race before suffering driveline problems on the last lap. Round two of the 'Alltel DIRTcar Nationals' scheduled for tonight at the Volusia (FL) Speedway Park has been rained out. The action will continue at VSP on Wednesday, February 13 with another $7,000 to win UMP DIRTcar Series show.

Dennis Erb and his #28 team kicked off the 'Alltel DIRTcar Nationals' tonight at the Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Florida. Dennis timed in a disappointing eleventh fastest in his group during UMP DIRTcar Series qualifying, but passed seven cars in his heat race to finish fourth. After a win in his B-Main, Dennis rolled off twentieth in the $7,000 to win feature event. Following thirty green flag racing laps around the 1/2-mile Daytona Beach area oval, Dennis had moved up five spots and was credited with a fifteenth place performance. The Dennis Erb Racing team entered the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series-sanctioned 'Winternationals' finale tonight at the East Bay Raceway Park in Gibsonton, Florida and the cameras of the SPEED Channel were on hand to tape all of the dirt-slinging action for broadcast later in the year. Dennis Erb unfortunately failed to make the starting field for the $12,000 to win feature event after timing in thirteenth fastest in his group during qualifying and finishing eighth and sixth in his heat race and B-Main respectively. Dennis Erb and his #28 team unfortunately failed to make the starting field for the $10,000 to win Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series event tonight at the East Bay Raceway Park in Gibsonton, Florida. Dennis Erb opened up the annual 'Winternationals' at the East Bay (FL) Raceway Park tonight with a tremendous runner-up finish! Dennis timed in fourth quickest in his group during Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series qualifying and later won his heat race. After starting from the outside of the second row for the 30-lap, $5,000 to win feature event, Dennis ran third throughout most of the race. In the waning laps, the Carpentersville, Illinois native moved around Justin Rattliff for third on the high-side and later scooted past Matt Miller for the second spot in the final turn. The Dennis Erb Racing team closed out this year's version of the 'Super Bowl of Racing' tonight at the Golden Isles Speedway in Brunswick, Georgia. However, the finale did not go as Dennis had planned. After timing in seventh fastest in his group during qualifying, Dennis did not finish his heat race due to handling problems. Dennis Erb and his #28 Dirt Late Model team entered round nine of the 'Super Bowl of Racing' tonight at the Golden Isles Speedway in Brunswick, Georgia. Dennis qualified twenty-third fastest in O'Reilly Southern Allstars Series (OSAS) time trials and later finished second in his heat race to advance to the $10,000 to win feature event. After starting eleventh on the grid for the 50-lap A-Main, Dennis hung around the top fifteen before retiring from the race on lap 26. He wound up being credited with a twentieth place performance. Dennis was twenty-seventh quickest in O'Reilly Southern Allstars Series (OSAS) time trials and later finished fourth in his heat race. The Carpentersville, Illinois native then won his B-Main to earn the nineteenth starting spot for the $10,000 to win feature event. Following an off-day on Sunday, the #28 team competed in night five of the 'Super Bowl of Racing' tonight at GIS. Dennis qualified much better tonight, as he was second fastest in his group. Following a fourth place effort in his heat race, Dennis rolled off from the inside of the seventh row for the $10,000 to win A-Main. Unfortunately for him, he was involved in a first lap wreck in turn two, which involved more than five cars and brought out a red flag situation. Dennis hit pit lane with right-front damage, but made repairs in time to return to the track to later salvage a sixteenth place performance. Full results can be found on www.umpracing.com!

Dennis Erb was back in action again tonight in round three of the 'Super Bowl of Racing' at the Golden Isles Speedway in Brunswick, Georgia. Dennis timed in tenth quickest in his group during qualifying and then moved up a couple of spots in his heat race to finish eighth. The Carpentersville, Illinois native later passed three cars in his consolation event, but his third place finish was one spot out of a coveted transfer position into the $10,000 to win A-Main.
