
DENNIS THIRD AT FARMER CITY, SEES RAIN AT FAIRBURY...
May 12, 2008 --- Dennis Erb and his #28 Dirt Late Model team traveled to a pair of speedplants in the Land of Lincoln on May 9 and 10. Their doubleheader weekend kicked off on Friday, May 9 at the Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, Illinois. After timing in seventh fastest in qualifying, Dennis ran second in his heat race to advance to the $1,000 to win main event. The Carpentersville, Illinois native started the A-Main from the seventh spot, but advanced four positions during the course of the race to notch a third place performance.
The action quickly switched to the Fairbury American Legion Speedway in Fairbury, Illinois on Saturday evening, May 10 for a $1,200 to win show. Dennis qualified eighth fastest and later ran third in his heat race. Unfortunately, Mother Nature took the win in the A-Main, as persistent rain showers forced the cancellation of the feature event. ERB ELEVENTH IN '99' AT KENTUCKY LAKE...
May 5, 2008 --- The Dennis Erb Racing team invaded the state-of-the-art Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway in Calvert City, Kentucky on Friday and Saturday, May 2-3 for a pair of Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series shows. After night one of the '99 Extravaganza' was rained-out on Friday, the second night of the weekend went off without a hitch on Saturday evening, May 3. Dennis Erb timed in eighth quickest in qualifying and later ran second in his heat race to advance to the $9,999 to win A-Main. After starting eighth on the grid for the 50-lap feature event, Dennis got up to as high as second in the running order before getting shuffled back to an eleventh place finish. DENNIS ERB SECOND IN NALMS SHOW AT KAMP!
April 28, 2008 --- Dennis Erb and his #28 Dirt Late Model team entered one lone event last weekend, as the Carpentersville, Illinois based team invaded the Kamp Motor Speedway in Boswell, Indiana. The Northern Allstars Late Model Series (NALMS) sanctioned a $2,000 to win show last Saturday, April 26 at Kamp. Dennis timed in second fastest in his group during qualifying and later won his heat race. After drawing the pole position for the 30-lap A-Main, Dennis led the majority of the feature event at the Hoosier State speedplant. However, brake troubles on his #28 C.J. Rayburn / Rhyne entry would allow Jason Feger the opportunity to pass Dennis following a late caution period. ERB SWEEPS WEEKEND AT PEORIA AND QUAD CITY!!!
April 21, 2008 --- The Dennis Erb Racing team had a fabulous weekend, as Carpentersville, Illinois driver Dennis Erb captured his first two victories of the young 2008 racing season! After getting rained out on Friday night, April 18 at the Tri-City (IL) Speedway, the action turned to the Peoria Speedway in Peoria, Illinois on Saturday evening. Dennis timed in fifth quickest during qualifying at Peoria, which earned him the inside third row starting spot for the 'Don Bohlander 100.' During the course of the $4,000 to win feature event, Dennis proved to be the car to beat, as he vaulted into the lead and beat Tim Lance, Ryan Dauber, Steve Lance, and Wes Steidinger to the checkers to visit victory lane for the first time in 2008!
The weekend wrapped up on Sunday, April 20 at the Quad City Raceway in East Moline, Illinois. The PolyDome World Dirt Racing League (WDRL) Series and the UMP DIRTcar Series co-sanctioned the $5,000 to win show on Sunday at East Moline. Dennis won his heat race and later ran third in the dash to earn the inside second row starting spot for the A-Main. The driver of the J&J Steel / Thomason Express / Petroff Towing / Petersen Aluminum / PRC Racing #28 Rayburn / Rhyne entry once again had the car to beat on Sunday, as he recorded the $5,000 triumph over Darren Miller, Wes Steidinger, Steve Lance, and Brian Harris.
