Dennis Erb Eleventh in '99' at KLMS; Readies for Farmer City & Highland
(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) The Dennis Erb Racing team invaded the state-of-the-art Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway in Calvert City, Kentucky on Friday and Saturday, May 2-3 for a pair of Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series shows. After night one of the '99 Extravaganza' was rained-out on Friday, the second night of the weekend went off without a hitch on Saturday evening, May 3. Dennis Erb timed in eighth quickest in qualifying and later ran second in his heat race to advance to the $9,999 to win A-Main. After starting eighth on the grid for the 50-lap feature event, Dennis got up to as high as second in the running order before getting shuffled back to an eleventh place finish. "We had a good run going until that red flag period late in the race," stated Erb following his run at Kentucky Lake last weekend. "I had harder tires on than most of those guys and the tires just didn't fire after the red flag. Plus, we got knocked out of the way by another competitor on the restart and that cost us several positions as well. It is unfortunate to have such a good run going for most of the race only to see it unravel in the waning laps."
