Dennis Erb Seventh in March Madness at Cherokee; SAS Doubleheader Up Next!
(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) Dennis Erb and his #28 Dirt Late Model team trekked to the Southeast for a pair of Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series shows in the states of Tennessee and South Carolina over the March 6-7 weekend. On Saturday night, the ultra-fast Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tennessee played host to the $10,000 to win 'Spring Thaw.' Unfortunately, Dennis was not able to advance into the 60-lap main event after finishing tenth in his competitive heat race and ninth in his B-Main.
Things got much better for the Dennis Erb Racing team on Sunday afternoon at the historic Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, South Carolina. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series sanctioned another $10,000 to win race at the track "Where Three Wide is a Given." Dennis was twelfth fastest in his group during qualifying and later grabbed the fourth and final transfer spot through his heat race. After starting fifteenth on the grid in the 50-lap A-Main, Dennis stormed past eight competitors en route to a solid seventh place performance. The Carpentersville, Illinois native currently finds himself tied for eighth in the latest LOLMDS point standings following the doubleheader weekend. Weather pending, the #28 team has circled a pair of Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series (SAS) events to attend this upcoming weekend. The Boyd's Speedway in Ringgold, Georgia will start things off on Friday night, March 12 with a $4,000 to win show. The doubleheader weekend will conclude on Saturday evening, March 13 with the annual running of the 'Shamrock' at the storied Cleveland Speedway in Cleveland, Tennessee. Boasting a larger purse this year, a $10,000 top prize is on the line Saturday at the southern Tennessee venue.
