Erb, Jr. Invades Hawkeye State for Huge Week After Posting Pair of Top Tens
(July 14, 2026)
The World of Outlaws Late Model Series took Dennis Erb, Jr. east for a trio of high-profile events from July 8-11 in the states of New York and Ohio. Up first was a stop at Stateline Speedway in Busti, New York last Wednesday night for the $15,000 to win 'Rick Briggs Memorial.' Dennis timed in sixth fastest in Group A during qualifying prior to running third in his heat race. After rolling off from the inside of the sixth row in the 40-lap feature, Dennis was able to work his way past four competitors on his way to a solid seventh place effort.

Following a rain-out on Friday evening in the opener at Sharon Speedway, the #28 team was back at it again at the Hartford, Ohio speedplant on Saturday in the annual 'Battle at the Border.' Dennis knocked down the third quickest lap in Group B during the time trial session and later secured an impressive heat race victory. After drawing the pole for the 60-lap headliner, which boasted a $20,000 payday, the Carpentersville, Illinois star ran inside of the top five for the first 20 circuits before winding up seventh in the final finishing order. The Dennis Erb Racing team is in the Hawkeye State this week (July 14-18) for a lucrative stretch with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. Later tonight, the tour will visit Adams County Speedway in Corning, Iowa for the first time and a $15,000 top prize will be up for grabs. The dirt-slinging action will then quickly turn to Shelby County Speedway in Harlan, Iowa for the annual running of the ‘Silver Dollar Nationals.’

Thursday’s opener at Shelby County Speedway will pay out $15,000 to the winner. Preliminary action for the ‘Silver Dollar Nationals’ will then take place on Friday evening ahead of Saturday’s grand finale, which will shell out a hefty $52,000 first place prize. In addition, the runner-up in the ‘Silver Dollar Nationals’ will receive $53,000 in earnings. Each of the races in the state of Iowa this week can be viewed LIVE on FloRacing or learn more online at www.lucasdirt.com.
